Spokane Conservation District Fire Workshop
The journals of early Northwest visitors contain a wide variety of descriptions and reactions to the presences of fire on the landscape. This slide presentation will relate 19th century journal entries and artwork to tribal oral histories, archaeology, and forest history to try and sort out what was really going on.
