During his time in the Northwest, Scottish naturalist David Douglas paid close attention to how the native people he met incorporated plants into every aspect of their daily lives. Wherever he traveled, he tasted food, tested fishnets, purchased textiles, and asked endless questions. This slide presentation will compare what he recorded with what we see in our regional landscape today.

The lecture is sponsored by theĀ Native Plant Society, Willamette Valley Chapter, in partnership with the David Douglas Society. A book signing with Jack will follow the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
